2-Factor Authentication (2FA) for Patients

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of security to protect your private information.

For patients, 2FA is optional, however highly recommended. 

Also, as the code is sent to you by SMS text message, if you do not have a cell phone or a cell phone with texting capability, do not enable this feature.

* Your private information is never shared and is only used for this safety feature *

The 2FA code will last up to 15 days, but it could be less if any if any of these changes happen:

• You are using a different device
• You are in a different location, therefore using a different internal IP address
• Your internet provider has changed the external IP address in your area

When 2FA is enabled, after adding your user ID and password into the log-in screen, you will be asked to enter a code that is sent to you by text message. 

Steps to enable / disable 2FA:

MOBILE DEVICE: 

Step 1 - From the bottom navigation bar, select ‘Profile’ 

Step 2 - Scroll down and select ‘Two-Factor Authentication’ 

Step 3 - Select ‘Enable Two-Factor Authentication’ or 'Disable Two-Factor Authentication'

Step 4 - A 6-digit authentication code will be sent via SMS text message to the cell number indicated in your profile.  Enter the code and 2FA will be enabled or disabled.

DESKTOP:

Step 1 - From 'Account' in the left navigation bar, select ‘Profile’ 

Step 2 - Scroll down and click on ‘Enable Two Factor Authentication’ 

Step 3 - Click ‘Enable Two Factor Authentication’ or 'Disable Two-Factor Authentication'. 

A 6-digit authentication code will be sent via SMS text message to the cell number indicated in your profile.  Enter the code and 2FA will be enabled or disabled.
